DIY

I finally did one of my DIY projects. This is one of the two reefs that will be hanging on the front door of the church. This is just my mock up for now and i think i still need to do some changes. I also started working on some of my candles that will be sitting on the tables at the reception but, they are not camera ready yet.
Cost Breakdown:
Hydrangeas - 2.00 each total of 12.00
grapevine reef - $3.00
greenery- paid 2.00 but used less the half so I'm not including in the cost.
Total - 15.00 which i found are on sale at Hobby Lobby for 35.00 ea. So i think i saved some $$$$
What do you think of my pretty little DIY?

Top 20 Signs you are a Bridezilla

I was reading Confessions of a Broke Bride and she had posted this on her blog. Anyways i was just busting out laughing at this list of the top 20 sign that you are a Bridezilla. I really don't think that i am a bridezilla (yet :) ) but, this list it just to dang funny. I will have to say that i have ran into a couple of bridezilla's in the past couple of weeks during my visits to Davids Bridal and meeting some of our vendors. Hope you enjoy and laugh as hard as I did.

Top 20 Signs you are a Bridezilla
1.) You got your wedding gown before the engagement ring. And it came from Milan.
2.) You imported rare tropical flowers from Fiji for your bouquet. You told everyone it's because you love the way they look. Secretly, you wanted to make sure no one but a far-away Fijian could get the same wedding flowers.
3.) You whine the bridezilla mantra: "it's my day," to anyone who will listen. Even your chihuahua, Princess Cuteness turns away when you say it.
4.) Everything from your wedding cake to your fingernails is jewel-encrusted.
5.) You can't say "VFW Hall" without snickering.
6.) You were banned from having your wedding in a church because you suggested they replace a sacred statue with a life-size portrait of you.
7.) You've had 17 hair and make-up run-through (and counting). You text your stylist pictures of updos everyday. She has ceased taking your texts.
8.) You fired at least one wedding planner because of negligence. Who doesn't accept calls at 4:00 a.m.?
9.) You held an open casting call for "rosy-cheeked flower girls with prior wedding experience." Your sniffling niece with the underbite just won't do.
10.) You're on your second Maid of Honor. The first one mysteriously vanished after she refused to get John Mayer to "perform" at your bachelorette party.
11.) Your cake costs more than your mortgage.
12.) Your cake weighs more than you do.
13.) Your cake is an exact replica of yourself.
14.) When someone asks, "What does the groom-to-be want?" you chuckle.
15.) You replaced the size-12 tag in your gown with a size 6.
16.) You demand that the photographer only snap pictures of your good side. When he asks "What side is that?" you smash his camera.
17.) Your veil is hand-spun from real angel hair.
18.) Your getaway vehicle is a unicorn.
19.) You were escorted out of Macy's because you refused to put down the registry scan gun.
20.) Like the Great Wall of China, your wedding is visible from space.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday Y'all, hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

First let me tell you about one of the greatest web sites i just found. Thanks to one of the other blogs i read
http://dealsstealsandheels.blogspot.com/
She posted a blog about coupons and i found some really great one's off of http://www.retailmenot.com/
So if you are looking for some great coupons to go shopping with you should check them out.
I printed off a shoe station & Belk coupon so my shopping this weekend will be a little more exciting since i will be saving some $$$$$.
My plans this weekend is first to pick up THE DRESS!!! I am so excited to bring my little baby home. While i am at Davids Bridal i am going to try some veils on with my dress. I just cant decide which one i love more. Either a finger tip veil or a cathedral veil.

These are all from Davids Bridal web site. I just love veils and i think they just make the girl become the bride. Now i am just juggling on if i want a tiara or not. I love them and they look great but, they are just so expensive that its just crazy how much they want for them. I have found some that i love though. If you are looking for a bustier to wear under your dress check Belk they are cheaper then the one's at Davids Bridal but, with the same look and quality.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Let them eat cake

That's right, i have booked my cake and Joseph's groom cake. I am using Mrs. Pow at Brides and Bow Ties. I meet her back in February at a bridal show that was held at Capstone Hotel. Me, my mom and Joseph's mom all went to the show. We had tasted a couple of other cakes from local bakery's and they were good UNTIL..... we tried her cake. She only does old fashion wedding cakes that are white. If you would like her contact info let me know and i will be glad to share.

We meet her Saturday at her shop and i think we looked at a million photos. We even got to sample some of her frosting and talk about some good stuff.

This is what my cake will look like but, i will not have the flowers in between the layers and instead i will have pearls to cover the bottom layers. Also, the bottom layer will have our monogram on there. I am thinking of doing just pink & white roses for the top. I still have to decide on which stand i want to use. I can pick from either a white one or the sliver one in the picture. Which one do you think i should pick? What do you think of the cake?

This will be J's cake but, instead of all the green flowers he will more then likely have strawberries. Oh and for all you non Alabama fans the script A will be on there standing for his favorite football team. I think we are going to decorate his table in all Alabama stuff.

I will be picking up my dress from David's Bridal this weekend and i am so excited about bringing it home. Stay tuned for updates on this.

Martha Stewart

Ok so i was searching yesterday and i came across the Martha Stewart website. Who would have know that she does wedding stuff :) Ok Ok too all of you who are going duh! well i don't get to watch Martha and i don't read her magazine so i had no clue. Anyways she has some great stuff on that website. I found this clip art that's lace http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/photogallery/lace-projects

This was just the cutest thing i have ever seen. I also found some really good ideas on her website to use this lace print with. Go Martha Go Martha you are the bomb.com
Ok here are some of the pictures from the site of ways she used this print oh and she gives you instruction on how to do it.

Now i don't know about you but, i have the sweetest little flower girl Miss Maddie and i just think that if i was really DIY impaired this little dress(except it would have to be in white) would be so cute on her.

Oh and i have officially asked all my brides maid's, Maid of Honor and Matron of Honor to be in my wedding. Man oh Man some of them were hard to ask but, some knew they were going to be in my wedding. I felt like i was proposing to them LOL. Joseph has officially asked all of his groomsman and best man also(i think and hope). Now, it will be a piece of cake from here on out. Ok who am i kidding :)

I promise i will have pic's of my DIY's soon. I am in the process of doing three at once plus work two jobs and go to school. I will tell you what I'm working on thought. I am creating our monogram and have a couple just have not picked which one i want to use. Also, i am working on some water bottle labels. I will put the water bottles in the girls and guys dressing area with the day of stuff. Also, i am still working on this dang card box. Soon i promise i will have the pics up. Ok what do you guys think of this idea? That's right, that's her crinny or slip (whatever you want to call it). Mine will be pink thought. Ok what you think of it????Sorry i cant remember where i found this at. If its your let me know and of coarse i will give you the credit.

New Makeup

Happy first day of APRIL!!!! I love April, it just makes me want to sing lalalalala. Oh and Happy Birthday to my brother, that's right he is an April Fools baby.
I went this week and bought me some new make up. I ran into a girl i went to high school with and just so happen she worked at the Estee lauder makeup counter. So after a little conversion and question asking she talked me into trying there new mineral makeup called Nutritious.

I was a little wary of trying it since i have not changed makeup since i was in high school and since the foundation is a powder and not liquid. So today is my first day wearing it and I'm still not too sure on it. I really want to love it but, i just don't know yet. So have any of you tried it yet?
I did get this really cute free gift with it so i think it may have been worth it.
Ok so i have set my appointment to meet with the wonderful cake lady now i just have to pick a cake. I again just cant decide which one (i see a trend here) So here are some of my favorites.
